Estelle Tiffany’s beauty spa is located in a small working town situated on the outskirts of Doncaster; Salon owner Estelle has been trading from the premises for the past seven years, the layout consisted of a small entrance area with a manicure table and two very small beauty treatment rooms. Estelle’s requirements were for a beauty salon with two manicure tables a pedicure station and a good size beauty therapy room. This was one of the more testing shop fits that we had come across due to its size, as you can see from the images “right” and a total floor space of just 25 sq meters this was going to be a challenge.
A total rip out was required with the design, shop fit and project management carried out by ourselves. Every thing was stripped back to bare brick then began with a rewire, fresh new dot & dab skimmed walls ceiling with a new bespoke hardwood shop front and air conditioning installed in both the treatment room and main salon. A good sized beauty therapy room was formed featuring a chamfered wall instead of forming a corner to the room leaving more space in the main salon. This chamfered wall featured a hard wood frame with obscured glazing so to create a feeling of space movement and light.
To create a feeling of space we came up with the idea of a floor to ceiling forest scene which wrapped all the way round the beauty room with a hidden lit bulk head to give a feeling of depth and tranquillity; we kept the colour scheme natural complemented with a beautiful cream marble floor. A splash off purple was added here and there to match the logo and salon colour theme.
The end result is a place of tranquillity calm and space, a place of movement and depth. This was indeed a challenging shop fit with every inch critical and but the finished result is remarkable, we are very proud off this project.
