Urban Angel’s lies in the heart of a large village called Brough with a population of 6000 residents. The premises itself is very large with a total floor area of 1,616 sq ft split into two levels, a ground floor occupying a floor area of 580 sq.ft and a first floor area of 1,036 sq.ft with a mezzanine floor area with an internal balcony.

The premises had been trading previously as a salon on the first floor and a café bar restaurant on the ground floor; it was Kirsty’s request for complete salon solutions to re-design and shop fit the premises enabling the whole of the building to be used purely as a Hair & Beauty salon providing three treatment rooms to carry out specialist spa and beauty treatments and creating dedicated tanning and spray tanning booths, with a spacious reception area that would link the two floors together.

We were given an opening date of the 26th September 2007 which gave us five weeks to complete. It was important to create a place of peace and serenity a place of tranquil and space, with soft stone white walls with earthy browns. We chose a bright vibrant colourer to carry through the salon as to make the whole of the inside flow from reception retail units, beauty rooms and even the loos.

Windows were boarded up and stud wall’s were constructed giving a separation between the salon and the three beauty rooms, we had to be careful not to limit the remaining space in the salon, so we used glass bricks built into the stud walls to give the feeling of space and movement beyond the walls and corridors. This theme was carried onto the amazing glass brick semi circle retail area on the ground floor with a large reception and waiting area.

We have created a space of calm and tranquillity decorated in creams and browns, subtle lighting, being both decorative and practical, with floor to ceiling mirrors and plush leather chairs creating a stress free, comfortable, relaxed environment.
